Gorillas are my passion. My heart crumbles when I hear that a gorilla has died in the park. I cannot imagine how a man could hurt these gentle creatures.
At the moment, I am taking care of Mapendo, the female lowland gorilla that was rescued up north in January 2008. I have effectively become her surrogate mother. I was first trained as a ranger, but I find this work very satisfying and believe it is equally important.
